On Sunday, November 30th CBS will show their investigation special “How Online Gamblers Unmasked Cheaters”. This documentary was produced after a 4 month inquiry into the online Texas Hold’em poker industry and exclusively a cheating scandal in relation to the online Texas Hold’em page Absolute Poker.

This Texas Hold’em room was examined after several of the Texas Hold’em poker players on the website said that a player was unjustly winning a great amount of cash. Todd Witteles was a key witness in this investigation, according to him; he was losing large amounts of poker chips to the exact same Texas Hold’em player. Witteles claimed that this gambler was raising against incredibly good hands, the majority of people would have assumed he was basically giving his money to the other players, but he was in reality earning tons of chips.

Witteles was correct about his suppositions, much later it was discovered that someone on the inside was able to watch anyone’s poker hole cards. At first look, Absolute Poker said that there was no wrongdoing with the site or the poker player. After lots more players presented the site with accusations, the poker webpage studied deeper into the cheating problem and discovered wrongdoing.

In Jan. of this year, the gaming commission exposed what the poker competitors and the Texas Hold’em room had suspected all the time. As it turns out, there was a worker who had broken through the poker webpage’s security system and was competing illegitimately for approximately six weeks. The inquiry showed that the Texas Hold’em poker webpage had not benefited from the unlawful activities in any way, and was not implicated.

These crimes are further proof that there should be more guidelines in regards to Texas Hold’em poker sites. The United States government needs to license and regulate the internet Texas Hold’em industry to defend these honorable clients. These regulations would also police the entry to these pages by children, which is turning into another issue these days.

Poker is not just for Poker Professionals Anymore

Posted under poker & poker players & professional poker

The game of poker used to be accessible only in Sin City Hotels or from video poker machines, but now it is more in style than ever in Sin City thanks to the TV.

The well-known Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino, is now banking on this new found popularity with its new audience-participation show called “The Real Deal!” in its Venetian Showroom, beginning in October.

Their new show will join comedy and game show elements to entertain its live audience. The audience will also be able to take part in the great game of Texas Holdem’ alongside the best poker players in the world. The show has many prizes for the audience including a chance to win 1$ million.

In “The Real Deal!” the audience members will play with players like Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu. Around 10 professional players have already signed up for the game show about poker. The audience will be able to play along with the 90 minute game thanks to handheld, wireless, touch screen devices located on each seat.

“People who take a trip to Vegas casinos want to play poker,” Negreanu says, “but obviously they can’t play in a world poker tournament with the players such as Doyle or Phil Hellmuth. But, in this show, they actually can.” When the show begins, six audience members will be chosen to sit at the poker table on stage with two professional players. Each audience member is then involved in the action by being dealt a unique set of poker cards on their devices. Everyone in the showroom is then involved in the action with big-screen monitors located on stage.

The show’s producers say that you don’t have to be a pro poker player to participate in the poker game. There are other ways to increase your point total, that doesn’t involve the game of poker necessarily. Betting on the suit of the next poker card or trying to guess which state a particular audience member is from, are just some of the ways to come out a poker champion in this game.

The show’s creators are also placing bets on the personalities of the pro poker stars to create some interesting moments. People like Scotty Nguyen, the flamboyant five-time winner of the World Series of Poker, definitely knows about entertaining the crowd and should provide some memorable moments in this new poker game show .
